What's Actually in a Wuffy Treat?

You should not need a dictionary to understand what is in your dog’s treats.

That is why we keep Wuffy recipes simple. Our baked treats contain five ingredients or less, and our meat and fish treats are made with just one.

We make every batch in Stone Ridge, New York, using ingredients you recognize and would expect to find in a kitchen.

Simple ingredients with a purpose

Every ingredient in a Wuffy treat has a reason to be there.

Chickpea flour is the base of our baked biscuits. We use it instead of wheat flour to keep our treats grain-free and gluten-free. Dogs don’t seem to notice the difference! Depending on the recipe, we add simple ingredients like pumpkin, peanut butter, applesauce, honey, cinnamon, water, or carob.

Our chicken jerky and freeze-dried chicken are made with chicken. Our beef liver treats are made with beef liver. Our salmon treats are made with salmon.

That’s it.

What you’ll find in our treats

We make Wuffy treats with simple, familiar food ingredients, the kinds you’d recognize from your own kitchen. We purchase them from trusted grocery stores here in the Hudson Valley and established food distributors.

Pumpkin Peanut Butter
Chickpea flour, pumpkin, and peanut butter.

Apple Cinnamon
Chickpea flour, applesauce (apples, water, ascorbic acid), honey, and cinnamon.

Wuffy Pies
Chickpea flour, peanut butter, water, and carob.

Chicken Jerky
USA-raised chicken breast.

Freeze-Dried Chicken
USA-raised chicken.

Beef Liver
USA-raised beef liver.

Salmon
Salmon sourced from the United States and Canada.

Always check the package for the complete and most current ingredient list before giving your dog a new treat.

What we leave out

Wuffy treats contain no grain, gluten, dairy, or artificial preservatives.

Why we don’t use artificial preservatives

Wuffy treats are made in small batches without artificial preservatives. Our applesauce contains ascorbic acid, a form of vitamin C that helps preserve freshness. We also use freezing when needed.

Really good treats can be simple

Wuffy began because we wanted simpler treats for our own dogs. We found long ingredient lists filled with preservatives, fillers, and ingredients we did not recognize. We knew dog treats could be made differently.

So we make really good treats with simple ingredients, in small batches, for dogs who take treat time very seriously.
